Norma Ann Norman, age 80, passed away on October 14, 2009 surrounded by her family. She was born on March 26, 1929 in Ethridge, Tennessee. Mrs. Norman lived in Akron since 1959 and was an active member of Springfield Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and doing for others. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, William "Ed"; daughter, Wanda (Bob); sons, Eddie (Rena) Autrey (Debby), and Todd; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six sisters and one brother and is survived by two sisters, Gladys Travis of Cleveland and Ada Brown of Alabama; four sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law and their spouses, and many, many nieces and nephews. She also leaves our special friend Dean Fletcher who has always been there for us. Norma's family would like to thank the nurses and staff at City Hospital for the compassionate care they gave her and us. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. A funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. with visitation for one hour prior at Springfield Baptist Church, 1920 Krumroy Rd., Akron, Pastor Larry Baldridge officiating. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association or one's favorite charity.
