Norma Jean Lancaster
Loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away in the loving arms of her family.
She was born August 22, 1936 in Cuyahoga Falls but lived most of her life in Akron. She also lived in California for over 10 years and retired as a pharmacy technician.
Her passion was to read books, crochet and be involved with all her family. She was a wonderful cook and passed on many recipes.
Preceded in death by her parents, William Sr. and Elsie Hunt; brother, William (Fran Hunt); sisters, Betty (Joe Bancheek), Shirley (Frank Kahn) and Peggy; daughter, Jean Lancaster.
She is survived by her sister, Patsy and Richard Dodson, sons Phillip and Laura Lancaster, Joe and Patricia Lancaster; daughters Delores and Marian Hensley, Beverly and Dan Paradis, Sandra Lancaster, Linda Hodgkiss and Wendy Lancaster; Nieces, Becky (Richard Wood), Madonna, Karen and her best friends Sharon and Lester Lowe; She was blessed with 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and many great nieces. She had many friends that she loved dearly.
Special thanks to Dr. Haas and as my mom called them (her girls) at Summa Western Reserve oncology unit in Cuyahoga Falls. Truly her life was impacted by the love they showed her.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2011 from 11-1 followed by a 1:00 p.m. funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Private burial at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or ASPCA.
