Norma L. Thompson
October 28, 1926 — September 5, 2017
Norma Lee Thompson age 90, of Tallmadge Ohio, shed her earthly
bonds on September 5, 2017. Born in Belington WV on October 28, 1926, she was the daughter of William R. and Adeline Board. Norma married her late husband William in WV in 1947 and moved with him to Akron Ohio. In 1976
she and William began building a beautiful vacation home in Belington WV. near their families.
After retiring from her job as a school crossing guard, in Akron, she and William would reside
there for months at a time in the Summer and Fall.
She enjoyed her retirement, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Predeceased by husband
William, mother, father, 2 brothers and 2 sisters, she leaves to mourn:
Daughter - Carol Hollingsworth and Bill Hollingsworth -
son Charles and Joan - son Thomas and Sandy Sucky. Six grandchildren: Scott and Erica Hollingsworth,
Ryan ( Kirsten )and Erin (Scott)Lieter, Melissa ( Donald ) Scherer and
Melinda ( Richard ) Chappelear. Six great grandchildren Megan and
Sarah Thompson , Lillian and Elaina Scherer , Zoe and Liam Chappelear
and many nieces, nephews and relatives who loved her dearly. The
family appreciates all the prayers and kind words received during this sad time.
Family and friends are welcome to visit on Friday, September 8, 2017 from 10am - 12pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
