Norman M. Hicks

Norman M. Hicks, 80, of Akron, passed away on July 9, 2023 at Pebble Creek Nursing Home. A lifelong resident of Akron, he was born on August 7, 1942 to the late Dallas and Beulah {Keen} Hicks.

In addition to his parents, Norm was preceded in death by his son, Michael Hicks and grandson, Josh Roseberry.

On February 22, 1963, he married Shirley {Ramsey} Hicks, and they celebrated 60 wonderful years together. She survives, along with their daughters Terry Hicks Carolyn Roseberry and Lisa Stockert; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother Mell Hicks.

Norm worked as a machinist for Desenco Inc., retiring in 2004 after 35 years of faithful service. He put in hours and hours of work, even off the clock, to support his family. In his precious free time, he could be found on his motorcycle, building watches, making knives, woodworking, and passing his crafts down to anyone willing to learn.
