Norman Joseph Muth, 89, went home to be with the Lord on February 3, 2021 in Frisco, Texas after a short illness. Born in Akron, Ohio on February 13, 1931 to Norman C. and Helen D. Muth, he was baptized at Mead Avenue Church of Christ on December 21, 1941. He graduated from East High School in January 1949 and served in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955. He worked for General Tire from 1961 until his retirement in 1987. In 2010, he left Suffield, Ohio, where he lived for more than 50 years, to move to Texas, spending time with friends, working in his garden, and with the pets he adored.
Preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Geraldine "Geri" Boyd Muth, and dogs, Evinrude and Walter, he is survived by his sons, Randy (Kim) Muth and Brian (Holly) Muth; daughter, Stacy Muth; grandsons, Keith, Joey, and Jordan; great granddaughter, Ivy; and his faithful pets, Tommy and Frisco.
Funeral services will be held on Norm's birthday, Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 12 noon at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, OH. Family and friends may visit from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Please plan on wearing a mask and practicing social distancing. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Operation Kindness in Carrollton, Texas.
