Ocie Dixon, age 93, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2020, at Arbors of Fairlawn. He was born on October 18, 1927 in Cecil, Alabama. As a young adult he left Montgomery, Alabama and moved to Akron, Ohio where he worked at Chrysler's Twinsburg, Ohio stamping plant as an assembly line worker for 26 years. In 1979, he dedicated his life to Jehovah and was a faithful servant for 37 years. His many hobbies were fishing, hunting, and traveling.
Mr. Dixon is survived by his wife, Gertie Dixon; daughters, Geraldine (Bucky), Michelle (Frank) and Ociea; son, Darnell; step-daughters, Gene, Nita, Toni, Nadine, Michelle, and Aquanita (Troy); step-sons, George and Bobby; sister, Augusta Harris, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maud Dixon; brother, Samuel Dixon; and son, Eugene Dixon.
Due to the circumstances surrounding COVID 19, there will be no services.
The Dixon family would like to thank the staff at the Arbors of Fairlawn for their compassion and care over the last two years. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, thoughts, and prayers offered during this time
