Odell "Dale" Sofran

Dale Sofran, 75, passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 26, 2005. She was born in Akron and graduated from Garfield High School in 1947. She retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co cafeteria with over 20 years of service. Dale was an active member of the Akron Public Schools PTA for many years, a Girl Scouts leader and an avid sewer. She was preceded in death by her parents Marco and Jessie Sapienza and her brother Paul Harris. She is survived by her son Gene (Peggy) and daughters Barbara Marcinkoski (Roger) and Lisa Huffman (Philip), grandchildren Tony, Jeff and Jena Sofran, Michael and Mark Marcinkoski, Stephanie and Adam Huffman, three great grandchildren, sister Doris Skene and neices and nephews. She was devoted to her children, taking an active role in supporting all of their interests. She adored her grandchildren, making sure that every holiday or significant event in their lives was extra special.Family will receive friends TODAY from 4-7 P.M. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at St Matthew Church at 11:30 A.M. Interment Crown Hill Cemetery, Twinsburg.
