Oleta I. (Leta) Cook
Oleta Cook, 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at her home. She was born on September 22, 1919 in Model, Tennessee to parents Roy and Audie Vinson.
Leta was preceded in death by parents; four sisters; son, Jerry; and husband, Willard "Guy". She is survived by brother, James (Betsy) Vinson of Clarksville, TN; son, Roger (Judy); daughter-in-law, Dianne Cook; grandchildren, Bert (Dayla) Cook, Jill (Kevin) Batty, Robin (Adam) Huff; and great-grandchildren, Mason, Mira, and Malone Batty, Brennan Huff, and Evan Cook.
Leta lived most of her adult life in the Akron area. She was a life long member of the Akron Baptist Temple and was a dedicated member of the sanctuary choir. Leta was a very successful realtor in the Ellet-Akron area for over 35 years. As such, she earned several lifetime awards as well as speaking at state conventions. She and Guy enjoyed spending their winters in Hawaii. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Leta will be missed by all who loved her.

Family and friends may call on Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 11:30-1:00 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Larry Knight officiating. Final resting place will be at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Leta's name to the Akron Baptist Temple (Renew Spiritual Journey), 2324 Manchester Rd., Akron, OH 44314.
