Olga Stemple
Olga Stemple, 88, of Akron, passed away on Feb. 9, 2006. She was born on April 4, 1917 in Akron to the late Louis and Mary (Holkovich) Kuruce. Olga was a longtime member of Lover's Lane Christian Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir. She retired from Polsky's Department Store after several years as an assistant to the buyer, and also worked as a keypunch operator at Babcock and Wilcox. She was active for several years in Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts, was a member of "The Copley Girls," a life-long gardener, and in later years an amateur artist. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by husband Woody Stemple; sisters Esther, Mary, Julie, Irene and Rose; and brothers Chic, Jutz and Bill. She is survived by son Kenneth (Terry) Stemple of Brimfield; daughter Kathleen Goforth (Charles Buffum) of New York, NY; son Larry Stemple of Uniontown; sister Lydia Leazenbee of Fairborn; and grandchildren Charles, Christopher, Andrew and Erin. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006 from 2 to 3 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305, where funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. with Rev.
