Olive Catherine Anderson (Lesher), 87, matriach of the Anderson family and life-long resident of Akron, went to her eternal reward on September 22, 2004. Catherine was predeceased by her first husband of 44 years, Roy Anderson; second husband, Harry Lesher; brother, Gordon Milroy; sister, Vera Peat; sister-in-law, Doris Krothe; grandsons, Richie and Jerry Anderson; and great-grandson, Nathin Taylor. She is survived by her five sons, Richard (Bernice), Jim (Sandy), Bill (Mary Anne), Larry (Darla) and Paul (Debbie); sister, Dorothy (Phil) McKibans; sister-in-law, Edna Milroy; brothers-in-law, Bud (Lucille) Anderson and Bob Krothe; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of Springfield Baptist Church for many years and sold Avon for over 40 years. The joy of her life was family gatherings such as picnics, holidays and reunions. Calling hours will be Monday from 2 - 4 & 6 - 9 p.m. at Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Springfield Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Baldridge officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Springfield Baptist Church, Hospice Care Center, American Heart Association or the Arthritis Foundation.
