Ora L. Hill

Ora L. "Buck" Hill, 88, passed away on November 1, 2013.

Buck was a veteran of WWII, having served with the US Navy. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. Buck enjoyed reading about history, family genealogy, and doing projects around the house. He was very likable and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; mother, Winifred Wooten; parents, Clarence and Claudia Hill; brothers, Billy and Jim; sisters, Lavern, Lucille, Miriam "Mickey". He is survived by son, Steven (Nancy); sister, Judy (George) Harris; grandchildren, Emily (Mike) Foss and Mark (Karen) Hill; great-grandchildren, Persephone and Ilithyia Foss, and Gabriel Hill; sister-in-law, Laura Napper; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, 12 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Family and friends may gather one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Veterans Partnership of Ohio, 1731 King St., Alexandria, VA 22314 or Maplewood Care Center, 1645 Maplewood Dr., Streetsboro, OH 44241.
