Orba Cook-Jordan

June 3, 1953 — December 17, 2020

Orba Cook-Jordan, "Auntie", age 67 of Akron, Ohio, died on December 17, 2020 at Akron General Hospital.

She was born on June 3, 1953 in Tyler, Alabama, the daughter of the late Katie Cook.

Orba was very passionate about her sobriety and recovery. She loved to help people in any way possible. Her mottos were, "Always give to the Salvation Army Christmas Drive Program" and "FROG-Fully Relying On GOD". She was very passionate about decorating her yard and dressing up for every holiday, including hats and glasses. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and "Her Boys"-her dogs, Snoop, Ace and Starfire. She loved to travel as well with her family and play the numbers, mid day and evenings. She was a one of a kind lady with a sharp tongue and you will never meet another like her, her favorite saying was, "that's it, that's all".

She has been employed at Viaquest, Inc. for the last 16 years. She was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church for many years under Pastor Jeffery Dennis. Most recently, she began visiting Living Waters with her brother, Frank, under Pastor Clark.

Survivors include her two loving children, Cherice (Billie) Neadham and Tyrone (Erica) Cook; her grandchildren, Shanette, Lejend, London, Tylan, Sokoya, Taye, Tarik, Gabby, Cheyenne and Dovantae; her great-grandchildren, Jahsiah, Ka'Lani, Madisyn, Morghen and Damarion.

Her siblings also survive, Rosetta (Johnny) Freeman, Frank (Jackie) Cook and Emma (Charles) Campbell; her special nieces and nephews, Doneshia, Danae, Darian and Dretan. Also surviving are her special friends, Holly, Vet, Velma and Barbara, and host of other friends and family members.

Other than her mother, Orba is preceded in death by her husband, Mingo Jordan; and her siblings, Brenda Cook, Katie McCoy and Abner Cook; her nephew, Dondi McCoy and her niece, Tonya Graves.
