Parker Lee Evans, 73, passed away June 30, 2009 after a 5 year battle with cancer. He was born in Sutton, WV, and retired in 1999 from The Geopfert Co. Parker was a member of the New Horizons Christian Church. He was a Civil War enthusiast who loved trains, enjoyed hunting, and was a bird watcher. Preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Alice Davis Evans; and brothers and sisters, Ezra, Garnett, Hester, Gaylord, Eula and Leonard. Parker is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Noreen Moore Evans; brother, Glen (Myrtle) Evans; and many nieces, nephews and special friends. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will take place on Saturday, July 18, at 11:00 am at the New Horizons Christian Church. Donations may be made to the New Horizons Christian Church or the American Cancer Society.
