Pasquale J. Marchette
Pasquale J. Marchette, 89, loving husband of Ellen L. Marchette, was called home to be with our Lord on March 24, 2006. He was born August 2, 1916 in Akron, Ohio. He was an accomplished musician and Veteran, serving in World War II as a Technician Fifth Grade in the 37th Infantry Division Army Band. He played violin for the Cleveland Symphony and learned the saxophone in the Army. He won the purple heart for bravery and injury in 1945. He was a beautician starting out with the M. O'Neil Co. in 1949. He opened his own salon, Marchette's Hair Design in the Akron Tower Motor Inn and later had a salon on S. Main St. Pat loved music and played with Sam Merindino and Band for 28 years for all occasions. He was a pilot and avid golfer and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Akron. He is preceded in death by parents, John and Magdalena; sisters, Nicholetta Gabriel, Amy Alexander and Mary Ulrich; and son, John Marchette. He is survived by his wife, Ellen; son, Pasquale (Yolanda) Marchette of Akron; daughter, Josephine (Kevin) Thompson of Texas; daughter-in-law, Virginia Marchette of Norton; sisters, Pam Mazurkiewicz and Jo Amelia of Cuyahoga Falls; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Willie C. Smith officiating.
