Patricia J. "Pat" Booth, 85, passed away July 29, 2019 in Holiday, Florida. Born in Gloversville, New York to Abram and Marguerite (Knoff) Best on April 21, 1934, she was a graduate of the 75th class of Gloversville High School in 1952. Upon acceptance to the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, Pat moved to Brooklyn, New York on June 1, 1953 and later graduated on May 6, 1956 as one of 52 graduates. After graduation Pat's first position was with Methodist Hospital of New York, where she became a Registered Nurse on January 28, 1957. Following two years of nursing Pat relocated to Boca Raton, Florida and became a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida on February 5, 1960 and continued nursing until 1985, when she moved to Mountain View, Arkansas. She then became licensed in the State of Louisiana on July 31, 1992 and continued her nursing career until retirement on June 1, 1997. In retirement of a 40 year nursing career, Pat then moved with her husband, Don to Akron, Ohio on August, 27, 1999.
She belonged to the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and greatly enjoyed arts and crafts, quilting, needlepoint, crochet, macrame, playing piano and baking. Pat's passion was genealogy. In fulfillment of this passion, Pat traveled extensively here in the United States as well as England, Italy, France and Ireland researching family history.
In addition to her parents, Pat is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Donald; brother, Kenneth "Don" Best. She will be sadly missed by her sons, Barry (Suellen), Eric; grandchildren, Gregory, Kathryn, Jeffrey; numerous other family members and her many friends.
The memorial service will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville, Ohio on August 28, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.
