Patricia Jean (PJ) Featherston passed away on April 26, 2020 at The Waters of Indianapolis, IN at the age of 72 surrounded by her sister, Janet, and the amazing staff.
PJ was born on June 1, 1947 in Akron, OH and is the second oldest of four siblings. She is predeceased by her mother, Dorothy Smith; her father, George McQuain; and her older brother, Lynn McQuain.
PJ graduated from Lake High School in 1965 and went on to obtain a nursing degree from Cleveland State where she worked in private practice until moving to Indianapolis to join her family. She was compassionate to others about her beliefs. Her love of God is what carried her through a complicated life. She loved to share her love and stories and ask for prayers. She truly loved her family and included everyone in her prayers. PJ's heart was thankful for the caring and loving staff at The Waters of Indianapolis who provided compassion and comfort as she begins her new journey with a pain free and healthy body, mind, and soul.
PJ is survived by her sister, Barb (Gary) Klaus of Norton, OH; niece, Monica (Jimmy) Spithas of Wadsworth, OH and their children, Adrianna and Noah; nephew, Dr. Derek (Erin) Klaus of Akron, OH and their children, Ella, Olivia, and Grady; niece, Angela McCloud of Wadsworth, OH and her children, Michael and Landen; sister, Janet Umbriet of Indianapolis, IN; nephew, Cody Umbriet of Indianapolis, IN and his daughter, Aubree; and many extended family members in Indiana.
We are deeply blessed by PJ's love of family, determination, and perseverance with all she has faced in her lifetime. I am sure she isplaying a piano "by ear" of all the church songs she knows. Somehow, she is wearing an O-H-I-O football sweatshirt and looking through family pictures!
Cremation has taken place and we are planning a "Celebration of Life" in both Ohio and Indiana at a later date.
