Patricia Ann Prather

Patricia Ann Prather, age 82, of Cuyahoga Falls went home to be with the Lord on May 8, 2024. She was born in Warren, Ohio to the late William and Mary Magill. Patricia received her bachelor's degree from Youngstown State University. She taught at Cuyahoga Falls High School, University of Akron, and the Academy of Court Reporting in Akron. Patricia and her family performed as the Family Affair Gospel Quartet for 10 years. She enjoyed playing piano, especially for her church Bethel Valley United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed traveling with her family throughout the United States and abroad.

Patricia is survived by her children Alan (Deborah) Prather, and Kathryn (Stephen) Reid; grandchildren Mary (Emmanuel) Etuke and Elizabeth Prather; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Donald C. Prather, her sister and four brothers.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Grandview United Methodist Church, 2315 Phelps Ave., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223, where family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
