Patricia Shawbell

Patricia A Shawbell, 90, of Akron, passed away at home on January 16, 2016 surrounded by family. Patricia was born in Akron, Ohio on March 11, 1925 to the late Robert and Marie Matz. She enjoyed having her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren around, especially for birthday and holiday celebrations. She was a very loving and giving person, and she was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church since 1958.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her loving husband, William; grandson, Craig Allen; daughter-in-law, Tina Shawbell; sisters, Lillian Linton and Rita Matz; brother-in-law, Mike Kelly; family friend, Calvin Conner; and sister-in-law and her husband, Katherine and Loy Booker.
She is survived by her children, Richard R. (Donna) Shawbell, Russell L. (Valarie) Shawbell, Barbara (Steven) Allen, Steven (Tracy) Shawbell, Scott Shawbell, Kelly (Michael) Livigni; sister, Elizabeth (Issa) Kelly; grandchildren, Richard (Diane), Jr., Michelle (Bryan), Amy (Tim), Ricks (Tracy), Russell W., Matthew, Derek, Lisa (Joe), Ryan (Stacy), Bryan (Joyce), Jason (Danielle), David, Courtney, Tara (Joe), Erica (Brett), Antonia; 19 great-grandchildren; and long time friend, Mary Conner.
The family wishes to send special thanks to Summa Visiting Nurse, Patty; Aide, Angela; and to Linda and the entire wonderful staff at Hospice. Also, special thanks to her nieces, Paula, Roberta, and Patty for all their love and support.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 from 4:00 pm-8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron.
