Patrick Arnold Lambert passed away quietly on Thursday evening October 29, 2020. He was born on April 21, 1950 in Batesville, Arkansas. His family moved to Akron, Ohio in 1954. Though he was totally blind, he was determined to live his life as a highly productive responsible man, who did not expect society to owe him a living. Because he was always interested in medicine, he decided to become a medical transcriptionist. He devoted more than 35 years of his life to typing medical reports for doctors at what was then called Defiance Hospital. He met and married Donna Herrero, who is also totally blind, at a business school in Pittsburgh in 1972. Pat and Donna were married in April 21, 1973, which was Pat's 23rd birthday. They moved to Defiance, Ohio in August of that same year when they each landed jobs as medical transcriptionists. Donna left her job in 1976 to become a full time homemaker and mother. Their daughter Maureen was born in July of 1977.
Pat is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna; their daughter, Maureen; grandson, Anthony (Lydia); and great-granddaughter, Tatum Rae Mezo. He also leaves his brother, Danny (Bonnie) Lambert; niece, Tammy (Kevin); their daughters Tia and Ashley and son Justin; and nephew, John (Richard). Also his brother Brian (LouAnn); their sons Corey (Laura) and Matthew (Brittnay) and daughter Larissa (Donnie); and their girls, Annalise and Ava Leigh. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews from Donna's side of the family, along with her brothers, sisters and their spouses. His mother Mary also survives. He was preceded in death by his father, Gus Lambert.
Pat was a faithful member of the Defiance Church of Christ. When he moved to Rittman he became a member of the Orrville Church of Christ. He will be greatly missed by his church family and his immediate family who loved him so very much.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 3 at 11:00am at the Orrville Church of Christ, 314 N. Main St., Orville, Ohio 44667. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society or your favorite charity in Pat's memory.
