On March 24, 2023, Patrick P. McCallum was reunited with his brothers Grafton "Pete" and George "Tom". He undoubtedly left this world a better place than when he found it on March 25, 1958. He was born, last of six, to Arline and Duncan McCallum in Akron, Ohio, and attended St. Peter's grade school and Archbishop Hoban High School, where he played basketball, football, and soccer. He attracted good people with his kind and caring personality, giving of himself throughout his life. He made it his mission to brighten everyone's day, including strangers he'd encounter that would hug him before going on their better way. Acts of service were something he gave out freely, whether it was a visitor's car parked in his driveway he'd wash and wax, a listening ear he'd offer to a lost soul, or simply a reminder text that said "ELE" which stood for "Everybody Love Everybody".
His passion for coaching lived on far beyond the time he finally hung up his whistle. He will always lovingly be known as "Coach" through the many young lives he was able to positively influence. He was a devoted father, husband, brother, son, son-in-law, employee, co-worker, coach, mentor, and friend. He took great pride in the work he did, holding onto mementos from working at Franklin Printing for over 25 years, and his AT&T hard hat as cherished accomplishments he displayed as proud tokens of the work he loved. As a friend, mentor, or even concerned acquaintance, those seeking understanding, acceptance, and wisdom always found solace in his company.
He is survived by his daughter, Katie; his siblings, Denny, Richard (Martha) and Mary; with 15 nieces and nephews that he cared for deeply, as well as, his ever-loving soul mate, Rebecca.
