Paul B. Padrutt
Paul B. Padrutt, 80, passed away September 27, 2007.
Born in Akron, Paul lived in the Akron/Cuyahoga Falls area all of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Alice (Gredig) Padrutt and brothers, Ernest and John. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Annie (Alhand) Padrutt, sister, Grace and William Kallay of Defiance, Ohio; sons, Paul (Christine) of Green, Terry (Jodi) of Peninsula, Greg (Karen) of Green, Mark (Rhonda) of Rootstown; eleven grandchildren, Courtney, Curtis, Matthew, Sara, Andy, Ali (Josh) Ley, Ashley, Richard, Marc, Scott and Corey.
Paul graduated from Springfield HS in 1945 and later served in the US Navy.
He received undergraduate and masters degrees in Education from Kent State University.
Paul spent his entire professional career at Woodridge (Boston) School System as a teacher, coach, principal, assistant superintendent and superintendent, retiring in 1979.
He was inducted into the Greater Akron Baseball Hall of Fame in 1988 also the Springfield High School Russ Pastuck Athletic Hall of Fame.
He was active in the North American Swiss Alliance following his father and mother's path from Switzerland. He was Treasurer and a Director of the organization for many years.
He was a member, Deacon and Elder of the United Presbyterian Church in Cuyahoga Falls. Paul will be forever remembered as a loving family man, a respected educator, coach, and a humble man of great integrity. His caring charm and sense of humor brought smiles to many and he will be truly missed.
Visitation and gathering of friends and relatives will be held from 3-7 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church of Cuyahoga Falls, 2819 Hudson Dr., on Monday, October 1, 2007 concluding with a Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. J. Ross Slaughter officiating.
