Paul H. Barnes
Paul H. Barnes, 81, went home to be with his Lord on July 8, 2008. Paul was born October 5, 1926 in Akron, Ohio. He served honorably in the U.S. Army and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Stow after 43 years of service. He was a member of The Chapel for 53 years and served as an usher, deacon, and volunteer on many mission trips. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 61 1/2 years, Millie; daughters, Carol (Bob) Thornburg and Christina (Jerry) Bates; granddaughters, Tina (Shawn) Pace and Traci Thornburg; great-granddaughter, Hannah Pace; sister, Wanda Arnold; numerous nieces and nephews; and many special friends. Family and friends may call on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral services officiated by Pastor Eloy Pacheco will be held Saturday at 11 a.m at The Chapel Green Campus, 1800 Raber Rd., Green. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Chapel's Deacon Fund, 135 Fir Hill, Akron 44304 or the Alzheimer's Association, 1815 W. Market St., Akron 44313.
