Paul M. Bujak

Paul M. Bujak, 74, passed away June 3, 2019 with his wife by his side. Born in Hartford, CT to Michael and Mary (Idzkowski) Bujak, he was an Akron area resident all of his adult life. Paul served as the first president of the national fraternity, Sigma Pi, at his college, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, in Worcester, MA. Upon graduating with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering in 1966, Paul began a 41 year career with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Paul's broad knowledge of the rubber industry enabled him for work assignments in many countries around the world. Before Paul's retirement in 2007, he was awarded several patents and also earned the title of Principal Engineer.

Paul volunteered for over 40 years at the Bridgestone Invitational Tournament at Firestone Country Club serving as Chief Marshall of the 18th Hole. He also volunteered his time as a "Rover" for the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. As a member of the Greater Akron Orchid Society, he volunteered as Editor of their monthly newsletter and as Treasurer for many years. He was an active member of the West Shore Orchid Society as well. Paul also served as Treasurer of the Sweet Swinging Seniors (SSS) Golf League.

Paul enjoyed golf, photography, gardening, woodworking, reading, stamp collecting, astronomy, antiquing, bowling, traveling, and he was an avid wine enthusiast.

His positive attitude was contagious, never giving up when it came to his ongoing battle with cancer and other health issues.

Paul will be sadly missed by wife of 30 years, Gladys and his children Kristin (Todd) Hazenfield, Michael (Diane) Bujak, Clifford (Reyna) Bujak, and Karla Bujak (fiancé, Andrew Rider). He also leaves grandchildren: Charles, Samantha, Kevin, Autumn, Nathan, Kenneth and Silas; and his sister, Jane "Booje" (Arthur) Calfee, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Cremation has taken place and burial will be private. A celebration of Paul's Life will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. (Family will greet guests from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. and the service will begin at 3:00 p.m.) at Galt Park Lodge, 2000 Oneida Avenue, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.
