Paul R. Ellis, age 67, of Akron, Ohio, died on February 22, 2022 at Arbors of Streetsboro.
He was born on May 20, 1954 in Akron, the son of the late Fred R. Ellis and Edith (nee Yehnert) Holloway.
Paul was a caregiver for many years. He enjoyed playing cards, board games, and was an excellent cook. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, the former JoAnn Rusk, whom he married on November 7, 1998; his step-daughters, Sabrina (Edward Sherwood) Bojo and Carla Maurer; his step-grandchildren, Wyatt, Lenah, Bryce and Eddie Sherwood and Christina Keeley; and one step-great-grandson, Richard Shepherd.
Paul's sisters also survive, Nancy (Carl) Gray, Joyce (Robert) Kephart and Christine (Rocky) Heater; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Other than his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his siblings, Walter Ellis and Janice Davis; and his step-father, Wilson "Woody" Holloway.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, where Pastor Tommy Bunner will celebrate Paul's life.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM.
