Paul F. "Pete" Nitzsche, Jr.
Paul F. "Pete" Nitzsche, Jr., 59, of Akron, passed away unexpectedly April 19, 2006 at Akron City Hospital. He was born October 1, 1946 in Akron, Ohio and was a lifelong resident of Akron. Pete attended the Church of God of Prophecy where he volunteered for many activities such as cooking for dinners, cutting grass and doing yard work. He also volunteered at the food bank. Pete was the son of an American Legion member and enjoyed playing pool as a pastime. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Pete was preceded in death by his father, Paul F. Nitzsche, Sr.; his step-father, Raymond McDanield; and his sister, Sharon Buehrle. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Wanda (Klapp) Nitzsche; mother, Margaret McDanield; daughters, Wendy (Peter) Zendlo, Cindy (Ronald) Huff, Michelle (Seth) Dodds, Christine (R. Michael) Smith, Susan Nitzsche; sons, Peter (Jessica) and Joseph; 22 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Clara "Kiki" Smith; brother, Steven McDanield; many in-laws. Calling hours will be Monday from 5 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. where funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Rev. John Klapp officiating.
