Paul Edwin Flohr, Sr., "Mick", age 72 of Akron, Ohio, died on June 19, 2018 at his home.
He was born in Akron, the son of the late Charles Laurence Flohr, Sr. and Margaret Elizabeth (nee Wehnes) Flohr Johnson.
Mr. Flohr was a small engine technician for John Deere and then went on his own and had his own business. Paul loved his motorcycle, he and his wife, Mary of 34 years, traveled extensively throughout the United States. He enjoyed gardening and working in his yard. Mick loved his dog and his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. Mick was a loving man with integrity and a good friend who always looked for the best in people. Mick was so grateful for his church family who welcomed him with open arms and loved him unconditionally.
Paul was an honorably discharged US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War, being stationed in Korea.
Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Borrell, whom he married on August 17, 1984; his children, Paul Edwin (Heidi) Flohr, Jr., Carla (Alan) Peters, and Brian Daniel; his grandchildren, Alicia Irvin, Kristyn (Gerald) Federan, Patrick (Shayna) Daniel, Nicole Daniel, Cody Daniel, Naomi "Peanut" Flohr, and Brittany Predojev; his great-grandchildren, Adelynne, Riley, Brody, Casey, and Norah. His two brothers survive, Ivan (Judith) Flohr and Patrick (Linda) Flohr; and his sister-in-law, Evelyn Flohr. His four best friends, Cecil, John, Mike, and Tim, and many other family, friends, and customers.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his step-father, Johnny Johnson; his step-mother, Rose Flohr; his brother, Charles Flohr, Jr., and his sister, Sally (Harry) Melton.
Funeral services will be held at Milheim Baptist Church, 2661 Hayne Road, Akron, on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 11:00 AM, where family and friends may visit from 10:00 AM until the time of the service where Pastor Kim Lawrence will celebrate Paul's life.
Family and friends may also visit from 2:00 - 5:00 PM, Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron.
