Paul J. Gallagher, age 80, passed away in the early hours of September 7, 2023 after an extended struggle with Parkinson's Disease. Paul was born in Roslindale, MA, near Boston, to John and Mary Gallagher on August 16, 1943. Paul lived much of his life in Cuyahoga Falls,
Preceded in death by his parents, brother John J, and dear friends Gene Muldowney and Patricia Himelrigh, Paul is survived by his wife, Diane Evans, sister Madeline (Lee) Hebert, sister-in-law Margi Gallagher, brother-in-law Tom Evans, numerous nieces and nephews, and best pal Arnie his dog.
Most knew Paul for his public service. I knew Paul as a humble, curious, content, and laid-back guy who loved his dogs, Hawaii, the ocean, eating out, walking, and his nightly Molson Golden.
A special thanks goes to the spectacular care staff at Regina Health Center Unit 2A, as well as care providers Ada S, Marisa (OT), and Courtney (DPT) for their special attention to Paul these past few years.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Parish, 750 S. Main St, Akron. The family requires masking; masks will be available at the church. In continuing a tradition started by Gene Muldowney, please wear something green to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Regina Health Center, In Memory of Paul Gallagher, 5232 Broadview Rd, Richfield, OH 44286.
