"Together Again"
On August 26th, 2024, Paul Glessenger Hamrick completed his earthly duties and was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. At the gates of Heaven, Paul took the hand of his beloved late wife Carol, and they are now strolling along the streets of gold, hand in hand together forever.
Paul was born on August 4, 1939, in Webster Springs, West Virginia. He was the eldest of seven children. He met Carol in high school, and they spent just shy of 70 years together. Paul retired from Ford Motor Company Walton Hills Stamping Plant in 1997 with over 37 years of service. After that, he spent the rest of his years enjoying his life, his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren! Paul made sure his family came first. Paul was a very confident man in his religion and found comfort in his faith, always offering salvation to anyone around him and was a large supporter of Southern Gospel music. Paul enjoyed volunteering at the Arlington Memorial Baptist Church Food Bank for 8 years.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife Wanita Carol; parents Melvin Elmer and Ethel Mae Hamrick; step-mother Rosalie (King) Hamrick; sister Carol Sue; brothers Dana (Thelma), Gary (Betty); sister-in-law Norma Jean Hamrick; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Paul is survived by his son Steven "Mark" (Patty) Hamrick; granddaughters Sara (David) Robinson, Amanda Hamrick (Paul Vanmeter); great-grandchildren Steven Paul and Danica Rose; sister Daisy Mae (Tom) Necina; brothers Arnold, Stanley Ray (Sandy) Hamrick; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and many friends.
Paul will be cremated and returned to his mother's grave in West Virginia.
