Paul Mitchell Jeter Sr., 80, of Akron, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022. A lifelong resident of Akron, he was born on July 20, 1942 to the late Edgar and Esther {Ray} Jeter.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brothers Gene and Lew Jeter; brothers-in-law Bob Carmichael and Steve Radonich; sister-in-law Estelle Jeter; a grandson.
Paul is survived by his loving son, Paul M. Jeter, Jr.; daughter, April (Neil) Harper; 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers Tom (Linda) and David Jeter; sisters Rose Radonich and Shirley Carmichael; former spouse and dear friend Leah Jeter; many nieces and nephews.
He was a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of Adoniram-Joppa Lodge #517, which merged to become Masonic Star Lodge #187, as well as a member of Tadmor Temple. Paul was also a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, and later a member of American Legion Garfield Memorial Post #566.
All are welcome to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until the Masonic service begins at 3:45 p.m. A brief service will follow the Masonic Honors, with Rev. Dr. T. M. Hines officiating. Following services, Paul will be cremated. Well-deserved military honors will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, where Paul will be laid to rest, at a date to be announced.
