Paul Z. Johnson, 46, was killed in a motorcycle accident on September 3, 2020. He was born May 28, 1974 in Akron, OH and attended Springfield High School. Paul was employed at LeafGuard for the past 15 years. He was a very devoted and loving father to his son, Corry. His true passion was making music. He was the lead singer of the band Fisticuff. Paul also loved playing the guitar, writing music, and was able to pick up any instrument and begin playing. He could light up a room with his smile. He cherished his family and friends, and would drop everything to help a person in need. The world has lost an amazing man, but heaven has gained an incredible soul.
Paul is survived by his son, Corry Johnson; mother, Kim Meaney ("the" Bob); father, Jeff Johnson (Phyllis); partner, Natalie Hillman (sons, Antonio and Zachary DiVito); siblings, Brooke Johnson (Mike Sanford), Jamie Bowers (Phil), John Johnson (Julie), Maude Johnson, Abby Hartoog (Shaun); paternal grandparents, Carol and Arlin White; four nieces and two nephews; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins. Paul is preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Bill Johnson, and maternal grandparents, John Jr. and Mary Ellen Becker.
Public visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305. Private services will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the Humane Society.
