Mr. Paul D. Kovach passed away peacefully in his sleep early Saturday morning July 31, 2021. He was born on August 23, 1938 in Akron, OH to Esther and Charles Kovach. He married the love of his life, Nancy L. Kovach and enjoyed 48 years of marriage before her passing in 2017. They shared a great life together with their sons David (Paula) Kovach and Michael Kovach in a home that was always filled with love. He provided for his family in so many ways and made sure we did not go without anything. He blessed us with his presence, his classic smile, his unique laughter and his amazing love. His grandchildren, Caleb & Grace, knew a grandpa that loved them very much and they're going to miss him. He worked as a Stereotyper and Pressman for The Akron Beacon Journal for close to 40 years. He had a great passion for golf all of his life, even working as a starter at Sunny Hills Golf Course after retiring from the Beacon. He met his idol, Arnold Palmer twice and they shared some great laughs together. We're pretty sure there are no jigsaw puzzles left on the planet he has not done. Jumble word puzzles in the paper were quick to be solved as well - maybe with a little help. He loved to watch the Indians, Browns, Buckeyes and Cavs and would often ask "Did you watch the game last night?" He made sure the sausage he grilled was perfectly cooked and the gyros and lemonade at the Randolph Fair were the best ever - and they were. The thing we will miss most is that he wanted to be involved in our lives. He has instilled values that will last for generations to come. He is remembered by his nieces and nephews, cousins and many, many others. We thank you all. He was a lucky man to be able to count on both hands the ones that he loved. His family is going to miss him a lot, and he leaves behind a great legacy of what it means to put family first, live with integrity and make the most of each day.
Thanks Dad. I can still hear your voice.
We're going to plan a celebration of dad's life soon. We'll let everyone know.
Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
my hope comes from him.
Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
My salvation and my honor depend on God
he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
Trust in him at all times, you people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge.
