Paul G. Marinos
Paul G. Marinos, 73, of Akron, passed away on May 22, 2005 from the long goodbye, Alzheimer's. He was 73 and lived his entire life in Akron. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in 1994. Paul was a member of Star Masonic Lodge #187, Tadmore Shrine and Royal Order of Jesters Court #80. Preceded in death by his father, mother, two sisters and one brother, Paul is survived by his wife, Netha; son, Pete (Cyndi) Marinos; daughter, Melanie (Scott) Cooper; grandchildren, Nicholas, Paul, Alexandra, Christian, Jeffrey and Ellen; brother, Doyle (Bobbie) Marinos; sister, Louise (Luther) Helmick; in-laws, Charlotte and Gene Dodson, Arnie Alsip, Fred Esker and special cousins, Brenda, Tom, Mary Anne and Lew; several nieces and nephews; and his special girlfriend, Buffy. Paul loved Christmas, 50's music, the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Indians and Myrtle Beach. A special thank you to the D-Wing Staff at Essex Healthcare and to Jo, Pat, Amy, Paul and Gena for their care while at Essex. Friends may call at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. on Wednesday from 5 - 8 p.m. with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Sam Rittenour officiating.
