Paul Silas Buckland
Paul Silas Buckland, 91, of Tallmadge, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2014. He was born in Alderson, West Virginia on August 27, 1922 to Silas Rayburn and Emma Jane Buckland. Paul proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was a WWII veteran in the Pacific Theater. He was a signalman on the USS Randal and 1st Lit. for two years in the National Guard in Virginia. Paul and his wife, Wilma (Stone) were married May 25, 1944 and would have celebrated 70 years of marriage this May. Paul attended the University of Akron and traveled extensively for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in Research and Development as a tire designer. He belonged to the 100,000 Mile Club with United Airlines. He was a member of Akron Free Will Baptist Church.
Preceding him death were his parents, four sisters, and two brothers. He is survived by his loving wife, Wilma; his daughter, Cindy (Steve) Cisney; son, Mike (Linda) Buckland; granddaughter, Carrie (Scott) Meikle; grandson, David (Ashley) Buckland; great-granddaughters, Lydia, Abigail, Rachel, Ava, and Amelia; and one sister, Ruth in Lynchburg, VA.

Visitation will be Saturday February 22 from 10-11 followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral service with Pastor Steve Cisney and Pastor Kenneth Frisbee officiating at Akron Free Will Baptist Church, 1802 Eastwood Ave., Akron. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
