Paul Lawrence Thompson

Paul Lawrence Thompson, age 65, of Akron, Ohio, died on April 21, 2022 at Akron General Hospital.
He was born on September 25, 1956 in Akron, the son of the late Wilbur "Bill" and Macel (nee Watson) Thompson.
Paul really was into music and when he walked in he played wonderful songs on the jukebox. People loved to see his smiling face when he entered the room. He was well loved by all of his friends. He liked all sports but was a big Ohio State fan, and went to the Horseshoe to watch Ohio State play Penn State. He enjoyed those visits most with his friends.
Survivors include his loving wife, the former Barbara Henry, whom he married on July 4, 1997 in Put-In-Bay; his step-children, Michael (Sarah) Friend and Jennifer (Nicole) Friend; and his step-grandchildren, Nate, Sophia, Camden and Carmine Friend.
His sister, Laura Ladwig, also survives, along with his niece, Sydney Ladwig.
Per Paul's request, there will not be any calling hours or services and cremation will take place. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
Barbara would like to thank all of the nursing staff at Akron General Hospital for their tender loving care and kindness shown to Paul.
All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio.
