Paul W. Phillips, 71, of Tallmadge, passed away January 12, 2010. Paul was born in Buckhannon, West Virginia on August 16, 1938 to the late Russell and Freda Phillips. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He also enjoyed his career as a long distance truck driver for GM. In his free time, Paul enjoyed bowling and spending time with family. He will always be remembered for his honesty and his love for his family. Paul will be deeply missed by his wife of 50 years and love of his life, Gertrude; sons, John (Kathy) and Timothy (Patricia); grandchildren, Cassidy, Christopher, Jason, and Ashley; and siblings, Joan, Eugene, Wanda, Judy (Marty), Barb (Larry), Steve (Kathy), Arlene (Bill), and Kathy. Visitation will be Friday from 11-1 followed by a 1 p.m. funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. Military honors provided by Mogadore VFW 8487.
