Paula A. Baker (Reedy)

Paula A. Baker, 78, died October 12, 2009 with her family at her side, after a short illness. Born January 20, 1931 in Akron, OH, grew up in Ellet and graduated from Ellet High School in 1948.
She was a member of the Goodyear Heights Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school, was a member of the senior citizens, missions board, memorial and music committees. She had been a Girl Scout leader and also a member of ABWA. She worked at Robert Hall, the Dime Bank and retired from the Akron School of Practical Nursing after 27 years as school secretary.

Preceded in death by her parents , Paul and Elsie Reedy; mother-in-law, Estelle Caraway ; husband, Harry "Pee Wee" Baker ; brother, Joe Reedy; sister, Inez "Nanny" (Ralph) Dauber; and brother-in-law, Les Baker.
Survived by son, Jay (Julie) Baker (Uniontown); daughters and sons-in-law Pam (Carl) Beck (Green), Cherrie (Mike) LeBarre (Tallmadge), Valerie (Benny) Pace (Tallmadge); thirteen grandchildren, Carl Jr., Christina, Chad , Sarah (Nate), Ashley (Derek), Jacob, Hannah, Jessica, Jenna, Jillian , Jamie, Gina, Allison; one great-grandchild, Cadence, and one on the way. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Helen Baker, Stella Fassnacht , Judy (Jack) Ferrell and many nieces and nephews; special church friends, Pat, Billie, Bessie, Donna and Betty; special friends, Chuck , Ginger, Ernie, Jan and Teena.

Funeral Service Thursday, October 15, at 11 a.m. at Goodyear Heights Baptist Church, 1767 Goodyear Blvd., Akron, OH 44305, Rev. John Phillips, officiating. Friends may call Wednesday, October 14, at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. from 4-8 p.m.
