Paula R. Mullins, a beloved figure in her community and a passionate creator, peacefully passed away on October 5, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on March 22, 1941, Paula touched the lives of many with her warmth, creativity, and unwavering dedication to her work. Paula graduated from St. Vincent High School with the class of 1959.
Throughout her life, Paula cultivated a rich career that spanned various roles and industries. She began her journey at the Noble Shoe Company and later graced Polsky's where her keen eye for design and commitment to quality shone through as she sold draperies. In 1974, she achieved a significant milestone by opening her own business, Decorators Work Shop, where for over 32 years, she poured her heart and soul into helping others bring beauty into their homes.
With a steadfast passion for sewing, she became known for her extraordinary skill with a sewing machine. Her talents were particularly evident in the custom dog boots she crafted for show dogs and her countless hours to quilting, creating timeless pieces that will be cherished by her family and friends.
Proudly, Paula was a lifelong member of the Old English Sheep Dog Association. Her involvement in this community not only highlighted her dedication to the breed but also her generous nature, as she shared her knowledge and love for dogs with fellow enthusiasts.
Paula will be remembered not just for her professional successes and hobbies, but also for her infectious laugh, warm heart, and her kindness. Her legacy carries on through the beautiful creations she made and the countless friendships she nurtured over the years. In every stitch and crafted piece, Paula leaves behind a bit of her spirit, forever inspiring those who knew her to find joy in the simplest acts of creation and love.
Paula is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Thomas A. Mullins; son Mark Mullins; daughter Kathleen (Monty) Johnson; grandchildren Paige (Cesar Quintana) Mullins, Baily Mullins, Darby (Travis) Fitta, and Shelby Johnson; great-granddaughter Sofia Quintana; siblings Claire Ward, and Daniel Miller; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Cremation will take place per Paula's wishes.
