Paulino "Paul" J. Vegas
Paulino "Paul" J. Vegas, 89, of Green, passed away May 14, 2008. Paul was born July 22, 1918 in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from the Illinois School for the Deaf and retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber after 35 years of service. He was a longtime member of Calvary Church of the Deaf. Paul will always be remembered as a high-spirited man with a wonderful sense of humor. Paul was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Humphrey; second wife, Dorothy Vegas; siblings, Andy, Josephine, and Juanita; and stepson, Harvey. He is survived by his daughters, Janet Bills and Betty (Terry) Toth; brothers, Joe, Jessie, and Julio; sister, Helen Barragan; stepdaughter, Virgene; grandchildren, Brian Bills and Joyce Hughes; stepgrandchildren, Carrie and Michael; and great-grandchildren, Barry and Brittany Hughes. The family would like to thank the staff at Pebble Creek and Hospice Care Center for all the care given to Paul. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. with visitation from 12-2 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., John K. Sederwall officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
