Peggy Ann Hawks peacefully went to the Lord on November 27, 2007. She was born December 2, 1933 in Bluefield, West Virginia to Noah Edward and Mildred Emily Meadows. She met Air Force Serviceman Howard Andrew Hawks in December of 1951. They were married June 3, 1952 and relocated to Akron. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and she was an inspiration to all as she faced many health issues with faith, hope, courage, and strength. Peggy was preceded in death by father, Noah; mother, Mildred; and infant daughter. She is survived by husband of 55 1/2 years, Howard Hawks; sons, Howard Edward (Rosemary) and Mark David (Valerie); grandchildren, Kelly Slayton (Johnnie), Zachary Hawks, Alexander Hawks, Ruthanne Hawks, and Andrew Hawks; twin great-granddaughters, Rebekah and Shelby Slayton. The family would like to thank the staffs of PICU at Akron General and Hospice at Ridgewood Rd. Family and friends may call on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. with visitation for one hour prior at High Street Christian Church, Pastor Joseph Eubanks and Pastor Chad Delaney officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Visiting Nurses Service, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH 44333.
