Peggy L. Duckworth

Peggy L. Duckworth (Uhl), 80, of Wadsworth, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025. She was born on October 14, 1944 in Akron, Ohio to the late Edward C. and Flora B. Uhl. Peggy graduated from Garfield High School in 1962 and soon married her childhood sweetheart, Richard Duckworth. They settled in Akron and began their family, which grew to include four children. When the children reached school age, Peggy began work as a secretary in the engineering department at the University of Akron, retiring in 2000.

Peggy, a lover of wildlife, enjoyed time outdoors, especially her daily walks in the park with her dog Gigi and the lake view from her home in Wadsworth. She was incredibly proud of her family and will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family admired her tenacious spirit and strong will. She overcame numerous obstacles throughout her life and never gave up.

Peggy is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Richard; children, Lisa (JC), Denise, Julie, and Rick (Shea); brother, Jerry (Becki); sister, Linda (Jimm); grandchildren, Olivia (George), Max, Alex, Nick (Tracey), Annie, Joe, Maria, Eva, and Ava; great-grandchildren, Lucy, Molly, and Josie; and other special relatives and friends.

Per Peggy's wishes, there will be no public services. Her family will celebrate her life privately.
