Peggy Ann Thompson (nee Ward), age 69 of Akron, Ohio, died on June 19, 2018 at Akron City Hospital.
She was born on February 5, 1949 in Tomahawk, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Jack and Erietta (nee Ray) Ward.
Peggy was a 1967 graduate of Springfield High School and also Southern Ohio College. She was a very well liked phlebotomist at Barberton Hospital for many years. She enjoyed listening to music and singing along and making people laugh. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Michelle (Aaron) Swan, and her sons, Dale, Anthony "Tony" (Tina), Dana (Erin), and Kevin (Linda) Thompson; her grandchildren, Scott (Jessica), Cory (Debie), Ashley, Faith, Allanah, Allyssa, Elijah, Chase, and Mason; two great-grandsons, Owen and Paxton; her former husband, Alva Monroe Thompson. Her siblings also survive, Julia (Don) Jarvis, Magdalene (Bud) Parsons, Larry (Jeanie) Ward, Paul (Connie) Ward, and Darrell (Donna) Ward; and many nieces and nephews. Her dog, Pogo, also survives.
Other than her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her son, Keith Thompson; and her brother, Clarence Ward, and her sister, Debra LeDoux.
Memorial services will take place at the Ellet Community Center, 2449 Wedgewood Drive, Akron, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 23, 2018, Pastor Ken Bulgrin will celebrate Peggy's life.
Family and friends may visit the family from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the Ellet Community Center on Saturday.
