Perl E. "Gene" Axline
Hoosick Falls, NY - Mr. Perl E. "Gene" Axline, 95, of Hoosick Falls, NY, formerly of Akron, OH, passed away peacefully Monday night, November 29, 2010 at the Hoosick Falls Health Center. Born September 21, 1915 in Rich Hill Township, OH, he was the son of the late William and Lulu (Hartman) Axline. Gene served his country during World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He worked for the Goodyear Tire Company in Akron, OH as a chemical operator before retiring. Gene loved sports such as bowling, hunting, and fishing. Gene was predeceased by his first wife, Lucille Keathley Axline; his secind wife, Josephine Margo Axline; two brothers, Ralph and William Axline; and a sister, Grace McFarland. He is survived by his daughters, Patricia McClellan of Shushan, NY and JoAnn Lyman of Cummings, GA; his brothers and sisters, Charles Axline of Akron, OH, Betty Axline of Akron, OH and Joseph Ed Axline of San Jose, CA. He is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A graveside funeral service with military honors provided by Mogadore VFW 8487 will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Hillside Memorial Park, 1025 Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral arrangements are by the Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd.
