Pete Zemlansky
Pete Zemlansky, 60, passed away on April 20, 2007, as the result of an automobile accident. Born on October 27, 1946 in Akron to the late Ann and Jake Zemlansky. Pete retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber in 2004 after 38 years of service. After retirement, he worked as an usher for the Akron Aeros. He was an avid democrat, hiker, environmentalist, photographer, and traveler. Pete was most proud of visiting all 50 state capitals and over 900 McDonald's worldwide, as well as the awards he received in photography. He was also a devoted volunteer for the Akron Metro Parks, serving mostly at the Nature Realm. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Debbie Zemlansky. Survivors include his wife Pat, of 31 years; son Bob; brother Bill Zemlansky, Sr.; sister Sue Zemlansky; nephew Bill Zemlansky, Jr.; niece Jennifer Zemlansky; mother-in-law Betty Mangus; sister-in-law Bonnie Mangus. Calling hours will be Monday, 4-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. where a funeral service will be held Tuesday, 1 p.m., Fr. Jonathan Zingales officiating.
