Philip Ray Delong, 50, passed away on December 11, 2015. He was born in Akron on January 7, 1965 and graduated from Springfield High School. Philip lived in Daytona Beach, Florida and was employed as a machinist with Teledyne Technologies. He loved being outdoors golfing and fishing and was an avid gun enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arkle and Helen Delong and nephew, Casey Metz. Philip will be deeply missed by his wife, Sherry Delong; daughter, Angel Zupancic; siblings, Denise Verner, Kathy (Dallas) Metz, and Jim (Melissa) Delong; nieces and nephews, Dana, Amis, Alex, and Megan; many other relatives and friends in both Ohio and Florida.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 5-7 followed by a 7:00 p.m. funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron.
