Philip T. Suman

Philip Thomas Suman, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully on January 27th. The son of Miller and Elizabeth Suman, Phil was born on October 8, 1937 in Greenville, PA and moved to Conneaut, OH as a young child.
Phil attended St. Mary Elementary, Conneaut High School, and John Carroll University before graduating from Miami University in 1959. He began his career with General Tire/GenCorp immediately after graduation and retired from there after 36 years of service.
In 1961, Phil married Dorothy (Hasso) Suman and they enjoyed celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary this past summer. Phil was blessed with three wonderful children - Mark (Lisa Schario) Suman, Teresa (Ted) Evans, and Diane (Jim) Hamelic. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren - Megan Suman, Greg (Emily) Suman, Kyle and Logan Evans. He is survived by sister-in-law Linda Hasso and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Phil was preceded in death by Miller and Elizabeth Suman (parents), Mike and Florence Kristoff, Mike Kristoff Jr., Helen and John Zimmerman, and John Hasso.
An active member in his community, Phil was a member of St. Matthew's Parish for 57 years and a lay minister for much of that time. He was also a member of the Mogadore Planning and Zoning Board and the Mogadore City Council.
In his memory, donations may be made to Mogadore Village EMS or St. Matthew Church.
A private family service will be held.
