Philip Lee Torson, 78, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his parents Stephen and Dorothy (Ray); nephews Jeffery and Mark, niece Kimberly Carpenter. He is survived by his beloved wife Leslie (McMurray); sons, P. Aaron (Angela), Jared (Leigh); grandchildren Luke & Julia; brothers, Ken (Anita), Tim (Linda); great nephew & great niece, Christopher & Shannon.
Philip was born on Nov 19, 1942 on Akron's south side and graduated from Garfield High in 1960. Shortly thereafter, he married and settled in the Kenmore neighborhood. For over 30 years he worked as an electrician for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. and was a member of the United Rubber Workers / Steelworkers Union. He enjoyed wine-making, camping with his family, raising dachshunds, watching wild birds, and being with his cats. Phil was a member of the Barberton Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and was baptized in 1956. His life centered around service to his Creator and Almighty God Jehovah, and really enjoyed helping others.
