Phyllis E. Braden

Phyllis E. Braden, 86, of Akron, passed away on February 14, 2021. Phyllis was born in Akron, Ohio on February 20, 1934 to the late Frederick and Alta Coomer. Phyllis retired from Nickel's Bakery after over 30 years of service. Phyllis was a longtime member of Cavalry Temple. She had many friends through her membership in TOPS and playing bingo at senior centers. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence Braden; daughter, Joan Braden; brother, Homer Coomer; and grandson, Kyle Phillips. Phyllis is survived by her children, Vickie Tyson (Vernon), John Braden (Ellen), Richard Braden (Kelly), and Linda Jones (Tim); brother, Howard Coomer (Mary); sisters, Vivian Shuster, Frieda Unklesbay, Carol Coomer, and Donna Ankrom (Larry); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 10-12 followed by a 12 noon funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Please plan on wearing a mask and observing social distancing practices.
