Phyllis Jean Clay, 70, of Akron, passed away December 17, 2021. She was born in West Virginia on April 5, 1951 to the late Wayne and Ruth King. Phyllis was very creative and enjoyed making crafts, sewing, quilting, and cross stitching. She loved collectibles and often visited thrift stores to add to her collections. She also liked word search puzzles. When her children were younger, she served as a scorekeeper for little league baseball and was active with the Girl Scouts. She was a longtime member of Arlington Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Clay Sr.; and sister, Sarah King.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Thomas (Jina) Clay Jr., Julia Clay, and Wayne Clay; brother, Jerry (Judy) King; and three grandsons, Michael, Angelo III, and Brian Minella.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 10-11 am at Arlington Church of the Nazarene, 1057 Triplett Blvd, Akron, where funeral services will be held beginning at 11 am with Pastor Darrell Frazier officiating.
