Phyllis J. Herbstreet, 67, of Akron, passed away August 29, 2004. Phyllis was a proud, independent woman whose perseverance was an inspiration to all. She will always be remembered for her love for animals. Phyllis will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Viola Conner. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Bruce) Price; sons, Robert (Sandy) Chance and Billy (Esther) Chance; two sisters; two brothers; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., with calling hours from 5-7. Interment will take place Thursday at 2 p.m. at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society.
