Phyllis J. Shafer
Phyllis J. Shafer, 76, went home to be with her husband, Lewis D. Shafer on March 14, 2016. She was born in Westover, PA to the late William and Violet Reed. She loved playing bingo, long car rides and spending time with her family. Phyllis also enjoyed cooking and was known for her cornbread casserole.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years; her parents; her sisters; and one brother. Phyllis leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Donna (Terry) Watson; son, Lewis D. (Jodi) Shafer; grandchildren, Nicole (Chris) Matics, Gary (Kelly) Somerville, Travis (Felicia) Somerville, Lewis D. (Heather) Shafer, Heather (Scott) Franklin, Ashley (Nichole) Roa, Christian, Justin, Charity, Tiffany and Jesse Watson; and many great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind five brothers.
Family will receive friends on Friday March 18, 2016 from 5-8pm and funeral service will be held on Saturday March 19, 2016 at 11:30am at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. Interment Hillside Memorial Park.
